Statement of Work:
The Jobs for Montana’s Graduates
Foundation (JMGF) statement of work identifies the initiatives that are
of priority to our organization. They are to:
- Manage JMGF’s Young Adult Service Corps (YASC): Young Adults ages 17-24 can each earn a $1,000 Educational Award by completing 300 hours of volunteer service. Over 100 YASC Members volunteer annually to meet community needs, develop leadership confidence and recruit volunteers. The AmeriCorps grant requires matching funds to administer and deliver this Service Corps statewide.
Manage JMGF’s mini-grants
program: Provide
mini-grants to support and promote education and training for youth. Grants
are available through a Request for Proposal process. Awards do
not exceed $1,000. Donations can be designation to support this
important community resource.
- Secure Resources to
Enhance JMGF’s
Endowment Fund: Endowment
resources ensure the sustainability and increase our capacity to serve
more Montana students.
- Manage JMGF’s Scholarships:
- In cooperation with local and statewide
partners JMGF provides scholarships to graduating seniors; helping
them to achieve future goals. Scholarships increase recipients’ ability
to achieve post-secondary education.
- JMGF provides sponsorships for students
to attend JMG’s annual
Leadership and Career Development Conferences. Within JMG, students
establish a team organization called the Montana Career Association
(MCA). The MCA experience fosters the development of self-esteem,
leadership, decision-making, assertiveness skills and provides recognition
for achievement.
- JMGF provides scholarships for students
to attend Jobs for America’s
Graduates (JAG) annual National Leadership Conference in Washington
D.C.Selected students participate in 4-day training
sessions on leadership, communications, and workplace skills. Previous
scholarship recipients have told us that “the leadership conference
is by far the best out-of-school learning experience.”
- Manage JMG dropout
prevention program at the Billings Career Center: Through national, state and local partnerships,
JMGF administers the JMG program at the Billings Career Center.
- Write and Manage Grants:
- To provide direct resources to local JMG programs to make
a significant difference in the lives of hundred’s of Montana’s
Youth. With
JMGF’s support, students gain skills and experiences that encourage
them to stay in school, graduate and become productive citizens of
our communities;
- to develop and implement JMG’s first on-line
curriculum providing teachers access to current and innovative resources
that focus on career planning, decision-making, job seeking, job
retention, academics, leadership, self-development and personal skills.
- Plan and Organize Fund
Raising Events/Activities: The
annual Leadership Awards Fundraising Event supports the mission and goals
of the Foundation.
